[vtkusers] Cleaning up an MRI

Hi,

I've got an MRI dataset that I need to show using isosurfaces but the data
has a lot of noise in what should be the empty space region resulting in a
large density of static type dots that are drawn in the box around the knee
represented by the MRI.  Does anyone know any techniques that might be
useful in cleaning out the extra noise?
