[vtkusers] VTk and MultiCore

Hey people

I just wanted to know, whether vtk is working with a MultiCore PC. I have
large medical data, and it would be great if I could put the calculations in
a separate thread. 

Does anybody have any experience with vtk and MultiCore? Or any other advide
how I could speed up the surface calculations for my medical data?
