[vtkusers] installing vtk-5.0.3 and cmake-2.4.6

Dear friends,
                   I am trying to install vtk-5.0.3 with cmake 2.4.6.But whenever I try to run cmake it gets hang.I have microsoft visual C++ installed in my computer.Could anyone pls tell me what's the problem.Why whenever I try to run cmake it hets hang.?
