[vtkusers] help on unstructuregrid and vtkGaussianSplatter

hi i got this examples from vtk examples for python on how to use ustructuredgrid
i seems quite complex does any one have a less complicated example?
it looks like they are reading a file...which i do not know how to put the data in....?

all i was looking for is an example for how to plot a surface throgh some given points
