[vtkusers] How can we write 2 datasets in 1 vtk legacy/xml file

If I have 2 independent datasets, say 1 vtkPolyData and 1 vtkStructuredGrid dataset, how can I write them in a single file either vtk legacy or xml file ? Is this possible ?
If not what are the other alternatives or file formats which support independent domains (datasets) inside a single file.
