[vtkusers] Using VTK with Mangled Mesa

I've been using VTK with mangled Mesa according to the instructions found
here:

The instructions specify that Mesa has to be built statically.  Is it
possible to use VTK with Mangled Mesa built with the "linux-dri" build
instead of the static one?  I am hoping to take advantage of the hardware
acceleration it offers.  What would I need to do differently from these
instructions to make that work?
