[vtkusers] Difference between vtkFixedPointVolumeRayCastMapper and vtkVolumeRayCastMapper

Hi,

Can you explain the difference between vtkFixedPointVolumeRayCastMapper and
 vtkVolumeRayCastMapper ?

Is there a difference in performance ?

I found that vtkVolumeRayCastMapper does not support short type instead of
vtkFixedPointVolumeRayCastMapper.
