Dear VTK users and developers,

Kitware is pleased to announce the first official release of VTK 5.4.

The VTK 5.4.0 release is now available for download from the VTK web 
site: http://vtk.org/VTK/resources/software.html .  The following 
changes are included in this release.

*changes from 5.2 to 5.4:*
- Geovis kit
- Two new views: TreeRing & Icicle
- Upgraded version of freetype utility.
