[vtkusers] vtkDistanceWidget constrained to PolyData?

I think there may be a problem with how I am using the
vtkPolyDataPointPlacer. If I try to simplify the problem and just use a
vtkHandleWidget instead of a vtkDistanceWidget and I set the handle
representation's point placer, it fixes itself to 0,0,0 and doesn't allow
the handle to be move. 

I am really stuck on this and I know that doing such a thing should be
possible.
