[vtkusers] vtkDataArrayTemplate for a custom data Array

Hello,
 I'm pretty new to VTK and I am trying to make a custom data array to store point specific data.
I need to store a rather complex data structure so I am thinking about storing pointers.
Can I use vtkDataArrayTemplate?
In that case, which operations and functions do I have to define on my pointers?
