[vtkusers] Osirix bones extraction

Hello,
I have watched the Osirix demo and i was wondering if they use a tool for bone segmentation of the bones or they just use a certain vtk ColorTransfer function to extract the bone?
I would be gratful if anyone lead me to the way they follow
