[vtkusers] Problem with vtkLookupTable

I tried vtkImageShiftScale, but didn't get the result I want. I should
mention that I am working with VTK 5.8, so vtkResample is no option for me
as it is not included in this version. Maybe there is somethink like a
ImageSmoothing or somthing like that in VTK for achieving a result like in
the second image?
