[vtkusers] silhouette of tubes or ribbons

Dear VTK users,

I use vtkTubeFilter and vtkRibbonFilter for generating geometry. In 
order to enhance my
visualization, I would like to draw silhouettes of the generated tubes 
and ribbons. I used
to do this with vtkPolyDataSilhouette for other surfaces before. 
However, it fails for
the mentioned tubes and ribbons. No silhouette is drawn. Do I have to 
preprocess the
data in some way?
