[vtkusers] To show "σ" using vtkVectorText

In my program, i want to show "σ" in my renderwindow. Im using vtk version5.4
and there is no unicode support in it. Im planing to try vtkVectorText and
it shows ascii values from 33-126 only. Is there any way to extend this to
show "σ".
