Brad,

I started to look at VS12 but it was derailed by more pressing work. I'll
try and have another look.  Most of the errors you link to are due to
missing includes of standard headers, and easily fixed.  I have a slightly
out of date patch that at least competed building, but the ctest script
didn't fully complete for some reason and and that's as far as I got when
looking at it.

I'll ping the list if I can manage any progress.
