Hello Bill,

I have not been following the recent discussions regarding ITK as I am busy with some complicated OPT recon code, however, I thought to send a comment regarding the image spacing!

Image spacing is extremely important for some of the image analysis specially the deformable model and ray tracing code which I have worked on in the past, without image spacing the results will simply be unpredictable!

Folks,

Our recent discussions regarding consistency of the distance map filters hightlights the inconsistent use of ImageSpacingOn/Off in the toolkit. There are about 33 classes that have the option. I have not checked them all, but they are not all consistent.


Should we make sure we are consistent, UseImageSpacingOn?

I am willing to investigate this?
