Hi everybody,

I have a binary image which is a result of a segmentation process. As =
usual, it has=20
a large connected object. This object contains two big regions that are =
connected
at some relatively narrow tunnel-like region. The attached figure =
illustrates the=20
idea in 2D.=20

I need to disconnect these two regions as much automatically as =
possible. Actuallty,=20
I want to remove one one of them without affecting the one that I want =
to keep.=20

Could anybody please help me doing that. I would be very thankfull for =
any kind of=20
help, ideas, suggestions, ...
