Hi Hon,

As Mathieu just said, PNG uses lossless
compression based on the zlib library.
So in principle your image will conserve
all the information.

As a sanity test you may want to convert
one image to PNG then conver it back to
TIFF and compare it with the original TIFF.

BTW
It will be great if somebody is willing
to contribute a TIFF reader/writer to the
toolkit...
