"THINGS THAT WILL HAPPEN WHILE YOU
WAIT FOR YOUR PAPER TO BE PUBLISHED"
In the typical 18 months that pass between the
submission of a paper to a Scientific Journal
and its eventual publication, the following
things will happen in the (real) World around us:
- 193 Million babies will be born [1]
- 830,000 People will die of Cancer
in the US [2]
- 1.1 Million people will die of Heart
diseases in the US [3]
- 45,000 Species will disappear from the
face of the Planet [4]
- Tectonic plates of the Pacific will
separate by 24 cm. [5]
- The City of Venice will sink 3mm [6]
- A Spacecraft can cruise from Earth to Mars [7]
- Sea level will increase by 2.2 mm due to
Global Warming [8]
- 4.5 Million people will die of AIDS
worldwide [9]
Curiously:
It takes less than one hour to post a PDF file on the Web.
It takes Google less than 10 days to index your newly posted PDF.
It takes 0.4 seconds for Google to return your paper in a search.
