We invite you to participate in the Computer Vision Approaches to
Medical Image Analysis Workshop (CVAMIA) which will be held in
conjunction with the 9th European Conference on Computer Vision (ECCV
2006, http://eccv2006.tugraz.at) in Graz, Austria, on May 13, 2006.

Biomedical computer vision is a fast evolving field driven by the
advancement of imaging modalities. This poses challenges and also
opportunities for the development of analysis algorithms. The workshop
will provide an interdisciplinary forum for researchers involved in all
aspects of the analysis of biomedical image data, obtained from the
nano, molecular, and cellular levels through macroscopic and whole-body
systems, to discuss the latest developments in this field.

Suggested topics include, but are not limited to the following areas:

*) Methods: image reconstruction, image restoration, sampling and
interpolation, imaging tensor and vector fields, image segmentation,
image classification, image registration, atlas-based methods,
deformable models, lesion detection, image quality assessment, random
field methods, statistical resampling, and motion analysis.

*) Applications: gene expression mapping, molecular imaging, image
guided surgery and therapy, computer aided diagnosis, functional brain
mapping, computational anatomy, cancer imaging, cardiac imaging, brain
imaging, dynamic imaging, interventional imaging, and functional imaging.

Prospective authors are invited to submit a full-length twelve-page
paper electronically via the CVAMIA'06 web-page
(http://cvamia2006.icg.tu-graz.ac.at). All submitted papers will be
subject to a double-blind peer-review procedure. Accepted papers will be
published on CD-ROM and distributed to participants at the workshop.
Additionally, all contributions will appear in a Lecture Notes in
Computer Science (LNCS) proceedings volume published by Springer.

The final program will consist of invited talks, oral presentations, and
a poster session.

*) Organizing Committee:

Reinhard Beichel, Ph.D. (Graz University of Technology, Austria)
Milan Sonka, Ph.D. (The University of Iowa, USA)

*) Important Dates:

     -) Full paper submission : January 30, 2006
     -) Acceptance notification: March 20, 2006
     -) Camera-ready copy: April 8, 2006
     -) Workshop: May 13, 2006

We look forward to seeing you at the CVAMIA workshop in spring 2006!

Yours sincerely,
The CVAMIA'06 Organizing Committee
