[Insight-users] Scale estimation of "fuzzy connected image segmentation"(qiuling)

hi:
   In paper "Vectorial scale-based fuzzy connected image segmentation",at the part 2.Theory 2.2.1 Scale estimation,the computation of the radius r(c) is according to FO(c),
fo(c)=Sigma(W (  f(d) - f(c)) )/ |  B[k](c)-B[k-1](c) |;
my question is that :
(1)| B[k](c)-B[k-1](c) | means what?
(2) in "vectorfuzzyconnectedfilter.txx " ,which part of this program 
compute the Scale of each pointer ?
(3) is there a particular part of the program compute the affinity of each
pair of spels?
