[Insight-users] Does ITK have connected component analysis?

Hi all,
 
Doesn't ITK have a "connected component analysis" such as in Matlab, where you can select the first/second connected components and so on? I want to use an edge detecting filter and then get the longest connected edge to use for registration and/or segmentation.
