Hi Jesse,

As Diego suggested, you will find this information
in the ITK Software Guide.

  In particular you should look at Chapter 7,
  "Reading and Writing Image" in pdf-page 289.


If you implement a new reader, and you are willing
to contribute it to the toolkit, we will be happy
to add it in the CVS repository.

The current mechanism for contributing code is to
post is as a short paper to the Insight Journal

You can post a couple of pages in PDF format describing
the Sisco fileformat, and then a .zip or tar.gz file with
the new classes, and tests for them.

It will be very helpful if you can provide Sisco images
as input to your tests, because the infrastructure of
the Insight Journal will compile and test your code
as part of the automatic review process.

Papers in the Insight Journal are put in Open Access
under a "Creative Commons Attribution" license. The
papers receive open reviews so you can engage in
positive feedback with reviewers and readers.
