Yes the (0020|0032) Image Position (Patient) tag was conveniently 
ignored. This bug has been fixed in a later version. Unfortunately I 
don't know about its release schedule.

On a side note, InsightApplications/ImageViewer ignores it too.. (needs 
to be fixed)..

No. VolView20 does not provide GUI support for loading in an image series.
