Thanks for contributing this patch.
It has now been committed to the subversion repository.
It works fine in Linux and Cygwin.
The only comment is that in Cygwin the .dvi is no
longer created. Latex seems to generate directly
the .pdf files. As a consequence, the Makefile rule
that attempts to use a .dvi file complains because
such file does not exist. It is ok to ignore that
error message since the PDF file is created anyways.
At some point we should rework that Makefile and make
it smarter by converting it into a CMakeLists.txt file.
