Dear all:

Apologies if this is the first notification you've received for the IEEE/NIH
BISTI 2007 - Life Science Systems & Applications 2007 (LISA 2007)

Deadlines:

July 31: Four page papers due

September 1: Acceptance notification

October 1: Final camera-ready papers

November 8-9: Workshop dates

The third annual IEEE-NIH Life Science Systems and Application (LISA'07)
workshop co-sponsored by IEEE and by the National Institute of Health's
Biomedical Information Science and Technology Initiative (BISTI,

http://www.bisti.nih.gov/bistic2.cfm) will be held in the Lister Hill
Auditorium, NIH Campus in November 2007. LISA'07 provides a forum for and
welcomes original technical papers on the advancement of life and health
science systems and applications. Global leaders from academia, industry,
and government will be invited to address novel technologies and products in
the life and health science domains. These invited speakers will address the
technological and application issues of biomarkers and surrogate markers.

Active participation from several IEEE societies, including the Circuits and
Systems Society, Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, Signal
Processing Society, Instrumentation and Measurement Society etc, are also
expected.

This call for papers solicits papers for oral and poster sessions which are
designed to be highly interactive. Those interested should submit a 4- page
manuscript in the IEEE format describing original work. The final version of
the accepted papers will be published in electronic proceedings of IEEE
which will be distributed by the web and by CD-ROM at the workshop. Selected
papers will also be invited to be expanded into one or more book volumes
published by Artech House Publishers or others. Acceptance will be based on
quality, relevance and originality. Best student papers will also be
awarded.

Areas of Interest (but not limited to):

. Biochip design in novel life and health science applications . Biomedical
image computing and informatics . Biomedical automation and control .
Biosystems and miniature instruments . Biosensors and biosensor networks .
High-throughput devices and systems in life science . Image-guided
diagnosis, biopsy, and therapy . Micro-nanoelectronics in life science
applications . Modeling and simulation of systems biology . Multi-scale
signal processing and imaging . Nanotechnology in life science . Novel
architecture and applications of large-scale bio-systems . Systems and
applications in biosciences, drug discovery,

personalized medicine, and public health . Genomic, proteomic,
metabolomic, and imaging biomarkers . Impacts in predictive, preventive, and
personalized medicine . Predictive modeling and simulation of biomarkers .
