[Insight-users] Most efficient way to compute gradient vector

Hi there, 

I am looking to compute the gradient vector at specific points within an
image. I have looked at itk::DerivativeImageFilter which seems the apply the
filter to the entire image. I also need to Gaussian smooth the image prior
to computing the gradient. What is the most efficient way to do this in ITK?
