[Insight-users] Pixel Intenisty in grey scale

HI everyone,i need to know a way to retrieve the pixel intensity in  ITK........i also need to know  what does the pixel value indicates..for CT images it retrieves negative values is there any way i can rescale or apply any function on this value so i can get the pixel intenisty in a grey level scale from (0 to 255).
