[Insight-users] digital contour smoothing?

given a set of voxel centered points in an image plane

that define a closed contour (eg., periosteal surface of

a bone seen in an axial ct image) is there functionality

in itk to fit an nth order polynomial to the points to 

generate a "smooth" contour?  One of the constraints is

that the points defining the new contour must be equidistant

but not necessarily voxel centered. tia,
