Very interesting.

Reading MINC1 files is something VTK can do but ITK cannot, it would be
nice to rectify that.

That sounds great!

The current MINC2 stuff in Review seems to be lacking love from the
community (ourselves included).  Since you seem to work at the MNI,
yours is probably a better way forward.
