thank you. Actually itk has itkBinaryMask3DMeshSource to make mesh from a binary volume.

If the surface mesh is triangulated to form a polyhedron, the genus is
determined by the Euler constant defined by counting edges, faces and
vertices as suggested. The marching cubes class for generating a triangular
mesh is in VTK
