You may want to try the filters:
ReconstructionByDilationImageFilter
http://public.kitware.com/Insight/Doxygen/html/classitk_1_1ReconstructionByDilationImageFilter.html
ReconstructionByErosionFilter
http://public.kitware.com/Insight/Doxygen/html/classitk_1_1ReconstructionByErosionImageFilter.html
