Hi Andriy,

Since you've expressed interest, I thought you'd like to know that  
there is an updated version of the n3 bias correction filter on the IJ  
website.  The changes weren't bug corrections but they definitely  
improve performance for levels < 4. Details are given in the new  
documentation in Section 2.2.   Let me know if you have any questions/ 
problems.
