Dear Jerry,

there is a good overview on wikipedia about optimization:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mathematical_optimization

Please keep in mind, that not all optimization algorithms are able to
deliver "the best" result. There may be no garantee depending on what you
are optimizing.

Best,
Robert

Subject: [Insight-users] What is optimizer?

Dear all,
I know how to use optimizer. Set a cost method, an inital value, a parameter
space. Then it will calculate a best result.

However, I have no idea about how it works. Moreover, why it could give a
better result than initial value?

Best regards,

Jerry
