[Insight-users] optimizers in registration

Hello list,

Would someone please explain to me how the optimizer in a registration
framework works? I understand that it tries to minimize a cost function.
But how is a cost function provided to the optimizer? And what does the
provided cost function depend on? Please explain as I dont understand.
