[Insight-users] Trouble building ITK Apps

I'm having trouble building the ITK Apps. I'm working on a CentOS 5 system:

I've downloaded and expanded the InsightToolkit-4.3.1.tar.gz and InsightApplications-4.3.0.tar.gz.

The toolkit builds uneventfully. The Apps build fails like this:

Except that, since all the makefiles are auto generated by cmake, it's not clear where I make the change to rebuild that library with -fPIC … 

Help?!?
