[vtkusers] suggestions?

Hi list,

i know that there are different ways to get the same result and thats why i 
thought to ask, maybe - probably - some of you have experience on these...

I'd like to plot a surface z=f(x,y) .... what objects do you recommend me to 
use?
(in case you have example code, would be even greater)
Also, is there a way to plot a vector-field? (like 3D flows)

Any suggestion or idea is a help.
