[Insight-users] How to extract features that are enough to represent the rigid body?

Dear all:

I have two 3D regid bodies, which are 2 triangulations meshed surface. I
want to check if the volume of the 2 bodies are approximately same or not.
The first thing I am gonna do is finding the best matching position of those
2 rigid bodies. There are many points in the triangulation surface.
Obviosly, I can not use every points on the furface to do the match. What I
want to do is to pick out several points from the two rigid bodies to match
them. Those points should be enough to represent the two rigid bodies, that
once I pick out the points I can conclude that these two rigid bodies
matches too.

The question is how to pick out the several points that contains enough
infomation to represent those two rigid bodies? (curvatures?
distance?......)

Many thanks
